Laura Reid Nix
As an experienced art conservator with excellent project management abilities, strong problem solving skills, an
international network, and peer-reviewed professional distinction; Laura seeks to organize and preserve fine art
and cultural history through the management and development of collections.
Laura has over 13 years of training and experience examining and treating 17th to 21st century painted works of art
in various mediums and substrates. Her research examined the physical, mechanical, and deterioration properties of
acrylic paints and modern works of art.
Laura holds a BA in Studio Art from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington
and MA in Cultural Material Conservation from the University of Melbourne.
In her free time, Laura enjoys
spending time outdoors with her husband, daughter, and dog.
Hobbies include section-hiking the AT, running, baking, creating art, and exploring new places.
